A generation of parents handing down their 850's and S/V70's to their douche bag kids is over, that's what killed the VS trolling.

That, and I think some of the idiots stay on Facebook. Which is good, but I feel like they won't have the opportunity to go 'oh hey, there's cool stuff to learn'. Tbricks has a wider spread of cars people go there for, and the backyard mechanic vibe, which syncs up with the older simpler cars. It doesn't seem like there's as many new enthusiasts ending up with an older S60 at the same rate as the S70 had.

I laughed when I read this.  Just confirms why you never want to own a newer Volvo out of warranty. And no wonder BMW owners in general are such douche bags. They suffer from constant gouging from the dealer so they take it out on the rest of the world. Highly tempts me to make the next car a Lexus if I can find an interior that isn't too plasticky.

I'm surprised VW is so far down on that list. I did consider a Lexus when I was looking at S80's but the interior are so gaudy. It's obviously a Toyota, and to make it feel fancy they decided to stick fake wood on everything imaginable.

There are four car makers no longer around on that list. Also, volume (N) counts.  Jeep and Land Rover in the middle?

Riiiggghhhtt ....

Find the mean and SD and take the number of vehicles out there on the road, totally different results.

I expected VW to trend much higher on the list too.  If I could get my hands on the raw data I'd run a couple of analyses that we would run at Nielsen to get a better view as Erik is talking about.

That said, just looking at sheer cost by survey isn't a wrong number it just causes those makers with smaller sample sizes to show higher variance. I would look at this as directional data rather than literal.

Go drive a Lexus....you'll fall asleep. They don't handle or brake good at all

they're upscale Toyotas, so they will be reliable. Keep in mind that Toyota/Lexus nav severely limits what you can do while you drive, and frankly it's not a very good system
