Oreo931
Inside joke. Many years ago I had the company that picked up this wagon, Rob's Towing, paint an R bumper for my yellow car. Josh had recommended the shop to me, and the office manager was this burly lady named Adourna. The shop ended up having to repaint the bumper a total of 3 times because each time the job wasn't done right. When I picked it up the first time, the bumper had cracks in the paint, so they repainted it a second time. Then, the paint started cracking like two weeks after I installed the bumper. So they repainted it a third time. A few months after that....you guessed it, the paint cracked again. I gave up at that point.

Andzey
I wish this forum would have a topic like "Ask your question" or "Need an advice" in Modification and/or Maintenance classfields... Got my oil sump back from ultrasonic cleaning bath. Before that it was soaked in petrol and acetone for couple days. Under the baffle plates there is still a lot of contamination. What else you DIY monsters recommend? Owen cleaners, maybe some carwash tar-removal or brake dust removal stuff?

Brake cleaner is pretty powerful too. I lack the chemistry knowledge to really know what is better without trial and error. FYI, I think most people around here are going to know it as an 'oil pan'. I don't know what level of service I'd expect from sending it out for cleaning, but I think I'd be a little disappointed that it came back still dirty. Seems like a fair question to start your own thread. Maybe provide some pictures too. I get what you mean about a quick question thread or something. A lot of people use this thread for that as you have, but I guess you have to know it's down here.

It was a large (50 gal maybe?) that had a metal basket you put your parts in and then submerge it in the most foul smelling chemical s*** you can imagine. If you got it on your hands it literally took weeks for the smell to go away! Don't remember exactly what it was, think it was a zep product? Worked awesome; IIRC it had a mechanical agitator that moved the basket back and forth. Leave your stuff in there overnight and it was down to bare metal the next day. Hell, I think it would start eating alum parts if you forgot about them in there.. This stuff should work I would think? https://www.amazon.com/Berryman-0996-Chem-Dip-Carburetor-Cleaner/dp/B00DSMEL2A Edited January 24, 2017 by gdog
