I like to have tools on me at all times, so I've got a bunch of sockets and ratchets, breaker bar, screwdrivers, pliers, electrical connections and crimper, zip ties, gloves, extra shirt, extra hat, two strap, jumper cables, etc. I've been thinking about overhauling the audio system, but there's no more room behind my seats to install anything. Looks pretty sketch but I saw their products in person and I was impressed, I will give them a shot. It seemed to be that their installation of their own parts was sketch, at least that's what I gathered from the threads I read. Please come back and whine to us when it doesn't work out. And make sure you update your signature to berate yet another person/company who has defrauded you. Volvo quickly distanced themselves from Evolve/Elevate within a couple of years of their early endorsement. vmzoller Posted March 19, 2013 Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 Since no one really answered your question properly let me add to the insight. The setup is different between 98s and 99-00 S/V70s. There's a metal knee bolster in 98's - as you discovered - and there's a foam bolster in 99-00's. Most who install the map pocket in 98's remove the bolster and do nothing to properly retrofit the map pocket in a 98. Read this thread to understand why there is a better approach. But ignore anything VolvoGuy50 writes - he's known in VS land as Faultywarrior (or Faulty for short) and is a certified idiot. Thanks, I appreciate it!
