Ceenit
Read through all the posts on the P0455 Gross Evap Leak code.Mine doesn't come on very often, maybe once every couple of months, but I'm going to go ahead and replace the purge valve because it seems pretty easy and cheap (and CEL lights going off bothers the stink out of me).The valve I am removing from a '98 S70T5 is part #9125243In looking up the parts at FCP and eeuroparts, neither of the parts that show up for a '98 look correct. Both sites indicated that I should purchase part # 0280142300. but this does not look like the purge valve I removed.http://www.eeuroparts.com/productdetail.aspx?code=4852The one I removed is looks identical to part # 8631285. But both sites indicated that this is for a '99 or newer vehicle.http://www.eeuroparts.com/productdetail.aspx?code=7688Anyone have any experience on which is most appropriate for my car? I'm leaning toward the one that looks identical to the one I removed. Seems the more logical choice. Thanks
Dmsee
You need the round one And the other thing on the picture looks like it is boost control solenoid. If you removed that put it back on place or you wont boost
Fudge_Brownie
That round one looks a lot like the one on my 98 S70.
Ceenit
You need the round one And the other thing on the picture looks like it is boost control solenoid. If you removed that put it back on place or you wont boost Are you sure that is the boost control solenoid? The square looking one is the only one is the only one on that line aire that has an electrical attachement. The only other thing to replace to be a small filter and has no electrical connector. I'll take a pic and post to make sure I am stating this correctly. Thanks for the posts.

SteelPig
I hate to revive a thread, but...I have the square valve on a 98 S70 GLT. Does the cylindrical one supersede that one? Which one do I want?
BlackT5
I have the square one on my 98 S70 T5. On my car, the lines out connect to the intake manifold and to the intake pipe before the turbo. The line in comes from the charcoal canister. Guest Guest_ray97_*
Remember some 98s were made with 99-100 parts...you probably have the electronic throttle as well.
