Idle Vacuum At ~16

Ok so today i got my boost gauge and decided just to hook it up real quick in the engine bay to see where my idle was at. it was pretty much on -16psi. now i read that it should be betweeen 18-22

I then took it for a drive with my vac line coming out of the hood and into the window. at 65mph im getting -21-22 psi

I also have an ipd ecu and it is boosting at 12.5psi and peaking on shifts at 14-15psi.

So my engine bay is super clean, ive replaced all of the vac lines and mad sure that everything is tight. the one thing that I think might be the problem is my ic, as you can see from this post

Intercooler

would this cause my issues?

ive put off getting a boost gauge cause the car seemed like it idled fine, but I wonder how much more power i would have if i was getting my 14.5 psi :)

If your only holding 16" of vacuum, then your losing boost. I hold 19-21" at idle, and 26-28" on decel. Replace all vacuum lines plus check all intercooler hoses, if you plan on raising the boost, then replace them, they crack and tear when they get old.

Doesn't sound like you have a major leak but it's definately there. I would check the Throttle Body/ IAC hose first as it tends to crack around the joint there.

I get around the same at idle 19-21 but cruising with gas pedal off 24 :(

Check vacuum lines

Is IPD should be 15psi?

Intercooler might also play a little role

all the vac lines have been replaced. i even just rechecked them after i saw the psi.

what should be the vacuum when driving on the highway?

would a leaky egr cause this?

Get rid of that shitty VDO. You should not be pulling 28 vac on decel.

Driving at 65 with gas pedal off should be around 25

Thats what I thought ;)

Big Autometers rule

Ummm buddy i don't have a VDO, i'm using two BRAND NEW autometer.... one a phantom and one a cobalt, they're not wrong :)

Vdo got sold about two months ago

Then your car is about to explode at 28

cool you must have a broken gauge too

Told you autometer was crap.

None of you are pulling more than 24". If your gauge say you are replace it.

For that matter if your pulling more than about 21" your cams or timing are screwed up.
