I hate this job, but after doing it on the beater, I have to do it on the yellow as well. After reinforcing everything I have zero creaks and rattles. As NJ Rob might say... QUIETEST 850 ON THE EAST COAST!!!! Reinforcing the mounting points. I use JB weld. For the mounting points in the car I used adhesive foam + felt. For my car, I pulled it into the garage again over the weekend and I think I have finally fixed an oil leak that has been bugging me for months. goldponcho Posted March 12, 2013 Report Share Posted March 12, 2013 4 bolts hold it in from under the cowl panel (under the hood). Remove the center console (4 screws, 2 bolts) and a screw on either side down at the bottom of the dash. Unplug the wiring harness by the fuse panel, and out it comes. Can be done by one stubborn person, I'd suggest having help though. Oh, and the steering wheel has to come off. Ugh. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As goldponcho described, there's not much involved in terms of unplugging/unscrewing. The main thing is to be careful, because all of the plastic attached to the dash is so old and brittle and it's easy to break something if you go too quickly. I've done this job by myself a number of times, but it definitely is easier if you have someone to help you navigate the dash out of/into the car. Good job! What adhesive foam did you use? Nothing special, whatever they sell at the local arts and crafts store. It's held up fine on my other 850. 4 bolts hold it in from under the cowl panel (under the hood).
