Who cares, if the guy had driven off the ticket has already been issued and the guy should have called for backup to arrest the guy.

Then you would be bitching that two cops beat and tazered his ass. And he could have easily had a gun. Go look up Keltecs or c.o.p.

Understood, but what's the probability of some random guy having one? I mean yea, it's possible but slim, most guns don't fit in pockets without some sort of noticeable bulge. Then again it is UTah :arob: I wouldn't complain about 2 cops kicking his ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD, if he became a threat, or totally disregarded the authority of the cop, but it appears that the cop didn't give him much warning before he decided to get all trigger happy.

The cop should be fired and charged with assault.

THe cop obviously was having a bad day and was extremely rude.

The cop didnt answer simple questions.

The cop left the guy on the road handcuffed to be run over.

The cop car blocked the view to the TEMP 40mph sign.

The cop was probably going the same speed also.

In ontario the police never ask you to sign a ticket. They just issue it and its upto you to

follow thru with court/payment or whatever.

He was ordered to put his hands on his head because he was under arrest. He resisted arrest by walking away. He was justified to zap the guy.

Now, was he justified to put the guy under arrest for not signing the ticket? That is a totally different question.

It is interesting how the guy insisted he never saw the 40 mph sign, at least until he got 50,000 volts run through him. Suddenly, while lying there in a puddle of his own urine, he remembers seeing the sign, but he wasn't to the sign yet, so it was ok.

He was lying from the start.

Pocket holsters are common and so are the guns that fit into them. I have no printing issues with my full size Glock or 1911. I don't keep them in my pocket but that doesn't change the fact that they still go bang.

Turning your back on a cop and walking away with your hands in your pocket will get you tazed or shot ten times out of ten.

Guy was way erratic.

I hope he crapped himself when he got tased. Just sign the damn ticket and if you feel you did nothing wrong, that is what the courts are for.

A billion +1's to both of ya.

Stupid p%gs, using their authority to the fullest extent.... There was no reason to fire the taser

1. He wasn't posing a threat to the officer

2. You might argue #1 because of his hands in his pockets, but as you can see from the way they were in the pockets they weren't gripping a gun/knife. Who cares, if the guy had driven off the ticket has already been issued and the guy should have called for backup to arrest the guy.

Don't get me wrong, I think plenty of cops out there abuse their authority, and I even clicked the article almost expecting some sort of abuse. After watching that video (and I love the fact we have clear video of the situation)... like chuck said, that guy had it coming. You get told to put your hands on the car, you do as told. Argue it later, request the video evidence for the court case later on. Until then, shut your mouth and do what he says. You walk away from a cop with your hands in your pocket, who knows what you're gonna do? And frankly, who cares. There is zero excuse. He was given real simple and clear directions on what to do, and was tazed because he made motions that could indicate possible coming harm to the officer. Who gives a shit what might have been in his pocket? Know this, it is standard proceedure for an officer to take measure to protect themselves if you even give the slight impression of a threat to them not going home that night. Thats why they give them less-than-leathal weapons. So nobody has a tantrum when some guy gets shot for being a jackass. The tazer isn't gonna kill him, and maybe next time he'll know to listen :)

Well, that just sounds stupid as hell. He didn't know the answer to the question till we tied him to a chair and beat him either...

I didn't watch the vid, just saying that's a dumbass justification lol.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
