Who Do You Think You're Going To Vote For.... And Why?

I'll vote for McCain or Obama. General election means nothing. Nice to see the current President dancing to a mambo yesterday in Liberia

So if you are voting for McCain, that must mean you feel the last 8 years as been sweet!, right?

 no Grant, its a difficullt choice between the three. I would consider myself a fairly liberal democrat, but McCain is pretty moderate considering his party, and he has a ton of experience. Obama is all about change, and that's great, I'm just scared of his lack of credentials. Hillary is like a two for one deal, and those years were pretty stable and prosperous, but her policies are on the borderline of socialism.

I think the stupidest thing is National Healthcare for all

do people realize that it will take even longer for people to get a Dr appointment and get a Dr help?

do people realize that the quality of healthcare will go down dramatically

do people realize the amount of money that will be taken out of their paycheck because of it?

stupid Dems

Interesting point of view. I would love to hear your take on how it will make it worse than it already is??

How much did that knife wound end up costing your insurance company?

healthcare in my opinion is not a 'right', and by a right i would mean the 'right' to free speech, the 'right' to bear arms. etc.

but in general our healthcare system is royally f'ed up thats for sure but just putting the government in control of it will do nothing to solve the problem. its my opinion that people run to the government whenever there is a problem regardless of whether or not the government is the right entity to handle the problem.

in europe, yes everyone does but the amount of taxes coupled with the fact that their governments are facing steadily increasing charges, do the benefits justify the costs?

I have to agree with this. Have any of you ever been in the military, or actually been to the doctor's in Europe. You show up to the general doctor's if your sick. You wait in line for your turn. First come, first serve no matter how sick you are. You get shuffled into a room with a nurse practitioner, not a doctor. Are you bleeding anywhere? can you walk? take this pill? come back if your still sick in a week. I'm being a little overdramatic, but you get the point. Not at all what we're used to the US. We have great healthcare, great doctors, poor insurance systems and it is expensive. It is staying expensive because hospitals cannot turn away people who need medical attention and cannot afford it. Healthcare reform will only do the same by raising some kind of tax instead of the increase of insurance premium. The poor still get medical attention when it is needed. Hell even working at REI provides health benefits to all its employee's. Instead of provided healthcare for all, let's get people some better jobs so they can afford there own.

I'm not rich, but middle class, have a good job. I can afford healthcare, I like my doctor's, this is not a top priority in my book.

Neither is the police looking for your Volvo after it has been stolen, the ambulance picking you up after a bad car accident, public schools, the library, the government stepping in after a natural disaster, or even your ability to own and operate a car.............to start with  . Your point being?? To each his own??

That movie that Michael Moore did is horrible... it says how Canada has healthcare for everyone and it is grea and wonderful

of course it does not state that the quality of the healthcare is HORRIBLE

you get horrible doctors and wait FOREVER to get an appointment or treated

I pay a good amount of my paycheck every month for healthcare for me (no kids or wife) and I can make an appointment in 1 week and get what I need when I want it based off my condition

say goodbye to that when National Healthcare comes into play.

I understand that everyone should have the "right" to be treated but there are tons of companies that offer healthcare for people that do not get it through their employer... it might cost an arm and a leg but that keeps us from getting taxed even more out of pay checks

I think healthcare if fine now.. but I have great benefits.

Cost me $100 for an ER visit out of pocket which I think is great... but there are other issues such as $600 for a blanked they used to keep my body warm in the ER... now that is messed up.

Yep. A room (just the room, like a hotel) costs $3000 a night at Texas Children's Hospital.

Texas has more uninsured people than any other state in the US (and yes we all know why). I wonder why every Obama/Clinton TV/Radio ad here in TX has been about healthcare .... hhmmm.

No wonder we have to tip our waitstaff down here with horses.
