Johann Posted January 28, 2008 Report Share Posted January 28, 2008 (edited) A friend was cleaning/clearing his workshop and wanted to get rid of a damaged B5234T3 engine out of his V70T5.Engine was on the lorry already heading for the scrapyard so I asked him if he wanted to drop the engine at my house, street number 55 btw.., which he did. The engine was complete with intake manifold and TB, Exhaust manifold, 16T turbo and white injectors in the fuel rail. The Alternator, steering pump and AC compressor were missing from the engine. Last Saturday I decided to take the engine apart and inspect the damage so after a couple of hours the workshop was one big mess but all was apart.. The crank was damaged and this engine really hit the jackpot, 4 bend rods!!! I collected the rods and gave them back to the original owner so he could use them as a trophy on the wall.. <img src="http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Crank went in the old metal dumpster and a newer 2001 type crank was installed temporarily together with a china rod to check the clearance. After that the block was machined to make room for the rods to rotate freely. The type of rod to be used, Rod is a bit heavy and 2 mm wider than the other known China rods but all other they should be adequate.
