Johann
Do they gave any kind of consequential damage assistance? After all, the shaft is solely damaged due to they product failure.I hear didn't anything from Spec or the supplier yet.

matt b
 That's no good. I hope they come through on this one, you were lucky to have a spare. Most people would have had to shelf the gearbox.
Johann
Update,Although it took some effort Spec did send me a new friction under warranty.I don't think I can hold anything against Spec in their initial stance in this matter. Think Jeremy did what he could within what was possible and reasonable and only after providing good evidence they agreed to warrant the claim. So far my positive experience with this brand remains positive. Now see what the new plate does. ;)

Johann
QUOTE (matt b @ Feb 22 2009, 09:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Now I get it. OK, that's not good! Anything else take a hit, or did only the hoses melt ?I don't know where your remark is based upon.. If you mean the open connections in the firewall, they are from the AC. If you mean the heater hoses going in to the firewall, the lower hose is a turbo version, the upper hose is a GLT version running over the intake pipe. The lower NA hose doesn't leave room for the intake so I had to replace this one with a turbo version.Intake pipe is 3". Only the firewall isolation burned, no flames only glowing don't know what it is called in English.
ozzimark
Like embers under a fire? Smoldering is probably what you're thinking of.Glad to see that the heat didn't transfer to the other side enough to melt the dash too That would have been bad <_<
