Nice Johann! I always laugh that in Europe a 2-3 week vacation is the norm whereas in the US, it's closer to 1 week.

My meme remark was the fact that you used the excuse of the tires to change cars. It's definitely a good excuse.

Very Nice! Sounds like a good trade up!

Yeah, that's because they have respect for the middle & working classes and aren't governed entirely by the Corporations :arob:

Sort of governed by unions still but more used as a guideline nowadays. Country is divided in three zones with a one week overlap. A three week vacation period but most people take 10 to 14 days. Officially our zone starts in the week of August first.

SD8 did wonderful btw.

Here's a bit better picture,

sd8-2.jpg

The rabbit with the glasses in the back is my youngest son.

In the weeks before the vacation I didn't work on the cars that much.

Installed the sketchy roll cage after painting it SD green,

cage-1.jpg

Only bolted it together, didn't fix it to the car yet.

Also tried to install a winch on the Carrier but ran in to issues with the mounting bolts. Postponed the install until I can find a way to mount the winch without removing the gas tank...

And most of the time went in to acquiring new "SD" work space. Some call it the new Nordicturbo HQ though..

I wasn't supposed to happen but...

As can be read in post,

There is also a workshop and since most of the building won't be used for the coming months I have the opportunity to use this workshop space for at least the coming 4-5 months.

With this knowledge in the back of my mind I have been toying with some ideas. Saw a nice building in the area being for sale. Was curious how it would look from the inside so I called the broker to have a look inside the building. Kept pretty vague about being interested or not. With the current crisis going I guess this is what made it possible to lower the price considerably to the point where i couldn't say no anymore.

Downside was that the transaction took place one day before we left for vacation. Received the keys at 5 and moved a few SD's in in the evening.

Carrier parked next to a bicycle shelter which needs to go outside.

Exterior needs some attention and the color choice isn't exactly my thing but overall it looks nice.

The new space looks very roomy! Will this also be your new shop or just storage?

I do have plans to make it my workshop yes. Already have an agreement taking over the CNC mill I made many parts with.

Also have a very old lathe and an old manual mill, a TIG welder and of course the usual tools. Still missing a MIG welder and a good column drill. Don't know yet if I am going to use the 2 post auto lift I have at home or search for a 4 post lift. 4 post can also be used as a parking lift.

First all the parts and stuff need to be moved over and given a spot. Then we'll see how things will evolve.

Nice!!!

Will you sublet to others to use to work in, or is it viable to maintain all by yourself?

Self maintained is the plan.

Congrats on the new place!

Thanks!

You need to paint all the blue on that building SD Green though!

Haha, already thought about that... :)

Should I quit my job yet?

Don't think that is a wise decision..

I want my own desk,

Can be arranged.

with a Fanta fridge,

How about a fridge which can hold a couple of Fanta bottles or can's?

and a bicycleshelterthing Thnx!

You already know what has been said about that shelter. I did see some complaining about the distance though.
