Johann
Had a lot of fun with the mill the last couple of weeks. Made some more manifolds, Had tyo fabricate a couple of air filter back plates and lids with it. This is for a big K&N E1966 filter (529x241x152 mm) which doesn't fit my mill working area so I had to machine them in two halves. The back plate holds a connection for a fuel bulkhead fitting, an IAT sensor and a connector for the second stage injector wiring. left some bracing because I do not trust the weight of it all on 3 mm wall thickness.. Sold the lathe to make room. Sold the Nissan Skyline. Prepping the SD9 for the wreck yard. still need to pick some parts from it. And last week I bought a '95 850 10v, 140 HP. MT, No AC. Took it apart up on arrival, The weather played very nice btw. Bought it because it had a green color D.O.P. so no fuzz with the paper work.. Brought it to the body shop last Friday. First thing Monday morning they started working on it. By Tuesday the car was in the paint booth, And Tuesday evening it was green again, Yesterday I received the car back and started building it up again, Again awesome weather btw. This evening I received the small bits and bumpers. Still need to mount the rear bumper and mirror caps which will be dry tomorrow morning. In the mean time I picked up a cheap coil over set, Apparently unused but galvanised struts didn't look that nice so I painted them black,

lookforjoe
Nice work. That's one heck of a color. What did you mean by green color DOP? That the car was originally titled as green?
blkaplan
In the mean time I picked up a cheap coil over set, Apparently unused but galvanised struts didn't look that nice so I painted them black, AP internal slave installed, Since the last post about the 242 the gearbox tunnel has been changed and the interior painted, (Maybe some is a repost..) Confused how both of these are in the same thread.
Johann
Confused how both of these are in the same thread. Have you ever driven a 10V ? Nice work. That's one heck of a color. What did you mean by green color DOP? That the car was originally titled as green? Dark Olive Pearl. Title only says Green. The new color is Porsche Gelb-Grün 137. Johann
that's my color. love it! About that.. Browsed your website the other day and noticed you were using my colours.. Totally unintentional I must say. The green was chosen back in 2007 when I asked on the Dutch 850 forum which colour to paint the mirror caps. Painting mirrors was getting boring. I'm using Black, White, Darker Grey and a Green nearing MOTIP 44400 or Porsche 137 for my company "C.I."

nari
In the mean time I picked up a cheap coil over set, are these the Pro-sport el-cheapo coilovers? For like 300 eur? I'm interested in how these perform.. hope to see a review from You.
Johann
I think they are offered as cheap as 240 Euro's. I believe they are from JOM. Not sure though. Some people said the blue ones perform better than the even cheaper red ones We'll see although the car won't be registered for the time being so no longer drive with the car. Johann
Sold the Skyline ?? Yep.. Was sitting for 12 years now. A guy in the area who already owns two 2000/2400 GT's was interested. I thought he would be more happy with it than me. Some more work done . Yesterday the Carrier needed the necessary attention. It was sitting for about a month already awaiting a new radiator. The green car also was far from finished, a lot of small things like window seals, door strips, seal clips, inner fenders and the rear bumper needed to be done. Mid day I decided to ask a friend who owns a car audio-electronics shop to help me install the coil over kit because I had the impression I was running out of time. Brought the green car to his shop around 4 and finished the Carrier early in the evening. A bit quicker than anticipated. This morning we made an attempt installing the coil over kit but some things were a bit confusing. We decided to ditch the rear height adjustment mainly because the adjuster didn't clear the whobble in the lower mount that well and we had some concern about the ride height. Removing the adjuster makes 10-15 mm difference. Secured the spring using the Volvo spring clamp. Will hold for now. The front was also a puzzle. The kit uses M14x1.5 bolts but there were only 2 bolts for 2 struts. No way to mount the lock ring on top. When shopping at a hardware store and lucky for me they had this non standard size bolts in stock. All other fitted pretty well. One of the brackets for the ABS sensor wires was missing. No thread in the strut to mount them either. Left the brackets out for now. Rear bumper and pop nails for the inner fenders and splash guards installed and before noon the car was back on it's feet. Not extremely low but low enough for now. Installed the SDM's 17" TDR's with extremely worn Kumho V700 tires fitted. No alignment done. Next to the body shop for the last touch up and a quick test drive after that… but the car was out of gas… Drove the car to the main street to make a picture, And back to the Carrier, And this is how I want to attend the yearly "Eland run" event tomorrow. A 120 km drive.
