myvolvo89
I currently have an '89 240 DL with 170,000 miles. The car has been great to me. It's been totaled, rebuilt and runs great. I'm worried that it may not have that much more life in it. How much longer should I expect it to continue running good (with standard maintenance)? If I do decide to get another Volvo, what type of used car should I get? Are the 740's a good car? Help me decide, PLEASE!
Mesoam
What would make you think it doesn't have much life in it? Volvo engines are known to be fine at 200k+...
myvolvo89
I want to replace my 240 because someone is offerring me a good price for mine. I forsee some big repairs with it soon that will probably cost more than the car is worth.

Everything I own (including my dignity) is for sale at the right price. As for cars to replace your's with... the 850 series cars are great, and you'll find a boatload of people who can help you learn about them on this site. I'm partial to the S/V 70's... A little newer design, but still retains that Volvo look. I don't really care for the S 40/60/80 and the new P2 V70's. just my .02. Just make sure you get a turbo*... you'll thank yourself in the end.*this was not meant in any way to demean those who have turbo envy. :D

Mesoam
he mentioned nothing about the car being totaled any way....i transitioned from the 240 to the 850...room for work is tighter and can be a little bit more of a pain but still easy to work on. V Tuning 850
I would go with an 850 of some kind. I loved my N/A 850, but am selling it, well my parents are and I am getting an S70 awd.
ToxicLemonade
get an 850, great volvo look. s70 is a little too non-volvoish for me. i had a 240 and hated it when i had it but now i want it back. i like the boxy look. you can find a nice 850 t-5 on ebay for a good price if you look hard enough.
