Wanting To Replace My '89 240dl...

I currently have an '89 240 DL with 170,000 miles. The car has been great to me. It's been totaled, rebuilt and runs great. I'm worried that it may not have that much more life in it. How much longer should I expect it to continue running good (with standard maintenance)?

If I do decide to get another Volvo, what type of used car should I get? Are the 740's a good car? Help me decide, PLEASE!

I want to replace my 240 because someone is offerring me a good price for mine.  I forsee some big repairs with it soon that will probably cost more than the car is worth.

If you think you're getting a good price for it, then sell. Everything I own (including my dignity) is for sale at the right price. As for cars to replace your's with... the 850 series cars are great, and you'll find a boatload of people who can help you learn about them on this site. I'm partial to the S/V 70's... A little newer design, but still retains that Volvo look. I don't really care for the S 40/60/80 and the new P2 V70's. just my .02. Just make sure you get a turbo*... you'll thank yourself in the end.

*this was not meant in any way to demean those who have turbo envy. :D
