Your solution will be an M66 in order to keep your AWD. Now, if you are able to give me a print screen of a '00 V70 R electrical schematics / from TCU - ECU etc.., then I'd owe you big time seriously. Pm me if you can do this please . They are the leader in shitty ass volvo trannys!haha anyway, I was thinking about doing the same and i think its 100% doable... although my plan with a 6spd AWD Isnt the S60 R AWD 6spd tranny a direct bolt up to the 98 engines, its the same frigin block correct?I think its the same block didnt someone bolt up a 6speed up to a 850 ? he has the red 850 in his sig with the big turbo. If there's one thing I know inside and out about 98-00 Volvos it's the parts required for an AWD manual conversion. Just to put any controversy to rest, there was a 98 V70 AWD manual in every market but the US. It came with the B5254T engine as stated above. There was also a 98 V70 R AWD manual in the rest of the world mated to a B5234T4 engine (and an 18T turbo instead of the 16T that we got). In 99-00 Volvo dropped the R AWD manual transmission cars so no R AWD manuals existed in those years. But, they did still have the 99-00 V70 AWD and AWD XC with manual transmissions. There were a number of different versions of the M58 available (lots of part numbers). Please PM for specifics.These M58s are getting hard to find, even in Sweden at the moment but with searching you can find one. Hope that helps. HtownTurboBrick Posted February 6, 2008 Report Share Posted February 6, 2008 I picked up wiring diagram disc on ebay for less than 10 bucks, including freight!You'll love it...It's a Way of Life!vadis or the diagram? the diagram isn't on vadis. actually the diagrams are sealed documents by volvo. even volvo techs aren't allowed to access it because if it comes to the point a tech has to be messing with wiring, they're ordered to replace the entire tranny. actually they're ordered to do a new tranny way before figuring out the wiring even comes to mind. Clearly folks are looking for something else...like a wire by wire of the main harness or something like that?As for the 6 spd in the 98, Seamus hasn't been on VS for a long time...at least he hasn't posted. Swedish Mike had a lot of knowledge about this stuff as well, but he also hasn't been around...probably got tired of telling people what clutch to buy over and over and over.
