InlineTurbo
There is an M3 for sale here with 28K miles on it with BBS rims. The guys wants way too much, but man is it a sweet car. Very, very temping and I don't even want a 2 door.
matt1122
I say yes, go M3.How much does he want for it though?
InlineTurbo
24.5K with the wheels and 23.5 without. Way too much, but I'd give him close to 20 for it.
J0E
The M3 is without a doubt an amazing car. It needs no explanation. 28K miles is very low, and I love Dakar Yellow, so I say go for it! But, if you say you don't want a 2-door, look for a 4-door. If you get something you dont really like or want, your heart will never be happy. Besides...the 4-door handles better and has a much stiffer chassis. The E36 M3 is not a car to miss out on when a great opportunity arises. One of the best cars made. Ever.
lax01
gotta be a 99 right? I voted M3 just because an M3 is a true sport sedan/coupe/carIt might be less horsepower but its so much fun to drive and of course, its one of the prettiest BMWs to date
InlineTurbo
Yeah, this car is perfect except it is a 2 door. It even has the 'vader' seats. It is a '97. I really want a 4 door though so I can actually haul around more than 1 person occasionally. This is just a beautiful car and very low miles for a '97. I'm sure there are others out there though. I'd prefer Silver or Estoril blue. The Dakar yellow is pretty hot as well. Kinda unique like the blue.I drove a 98 540 on thursday. Very nice car. If it was one of the 6 speed ones it would have been tempting. Very heavy though at around 3700 lbs. It is a nice and smooth V8. I've never driven an M3 because I probably would have bought it on the spot. Now that affording it isn't a problem I'm going to get the car I always wanted. If not this one then another will come along. Is there much of a better daily driver than an M3? It isn't the fastest, but it sure does have equal parts cool, power, finess and luxury. Plus the exhaust note is just so cool and it is a car you don't have to mod from the factory to make it good.

matt1122
The fake E46 heads (the stupid looking piece of whatever under the headlights designed to make it more like an E46) hasn't grown on me any.

matt1122
Porsche←Not enough room in the back seat. Trunk space is better on the M5, too. :P
The Stig
Not enough room in the back seat. Trunk space is better on the M5, too. ←Ah, he's talking about the M3, but the M5 is another good one. I've driven them all (E36 M3, E46 M3, Boxster (underpowered), Porsche Carrera 4S). The E46 M3 is an amazing machine, and right up there when it comes to daily drivers, but the the Carerra 4S moved me in ways only a good woman can. laird
thats a lot of coin for a 97. low miles only count for so much. look around, there are plenty of e36 m3s to be had. Over a year ago I had a 99 M3 offered to me for 22k it was a nice car too. If you wait another year you'll be able to find decent E46's for that much... Joe, help me out with the 4 dr being stiffer? How does that work?
