Looking good. Have you tried to fit the gauges into the DIN slot yet? Reason I ask, I had the same DIN panel as you and it didn't fit in a million years :( Got another one that also didn't fit but managed to get it in there with some convincing and super glue

It needs a modification, but I will make it to fit  .What do you believe about the gauges that I selected for there? Two more gauges will be on the pillar.Turbo pressure and A/F ratio.

Well since noone has nothing to add,I continue this one side topic.I received some more parts from PFS.And finally took the engine from the machine shop.I sent an employee from our workshop to pay and take them. Here are some photos.

HPIM0384.jpg

The H&R springs.I believe there are better than the EIBACH that I have now on.We will see....

HPIM0385.jpg

Here are the turn signals from PFS they look very nice.I will order now and the headlights.

HPIM0386.jpg

Some other parts from PFS coolant cap, rear susp.parts and coolant reservoir.

HPIM0387.jpg

Here are POWERFLEX wishbone kit,and upper engine mount, for which I asked a help.....But no word.

HPIM0388.jpg

Here is the engine, the flywheel(resurfaced),the cams(mine and from N/A)in the box there are the valve springs etc. and the lifters.

HPIM0389.jpg

An off topic photo,my uncle-he was there when I had the camera-I don't think that someone has a problem for this, ince I am alone here.

HPIM0390.jpg

And another one,my dad's XC90,good car but there are much better than this in its category.

HPIM0393.jpg

The pistons and the rods.

HPIM0396.jpg

And a view of the workshop, for this reason that you can see,I can't do many things on the car now.

These for now at least thank you for watching it.

Good luck with the engine assembly - I wouldn't be leaving those new/machined parts laying around like that, though...
Neither do I but it was too late when I put them there so I'll put them somewhere else.

Got a pic up that upper engine mount? Is it 2 pieces like most others?

May just be easier to pull the arm out entirely and press it in if you have to.

What did you bore the cylinder walls to? Any porting done to the head? Pics?

Hi Joseph,it is out and yes the mount 2 pieces purple colour, from the one side it goes ok,but the other it goes no way.All the strange things happen to me. :(

The cylinder walls are now to 81,51mm,and nothing to the head.only a minor polishing. My opinion is that the cost for the gain is disproportional.

Looks like you're progressing well with the build.

I'm surprised you opted to bore the cylenders. When I had my engine apart, there was no wear on the walls at all, so it's staying stock. Spent the money on porting and polishing the head instead.

What clutch are you going with?

I will put R clutch pn.272218.I am very satisfied until now with it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello again,I made some repairs to the car,but the main thing(engine)is at the machine shop, because the rods come in contact with the block.

HPIM0397.jpg

Here is the car as it is now,the XC style grille,is new from European Tuning nl.But the handle for opening the hood doesn't fit now.

HPIM0398.jpg

Here are the POWERFLEX bushings for the wishbone arms.Easy to fit, they seem to be good.

HPIM0400.jpg

Here are the IPD sway bars. From European Tuning nl. Ipd's dealer for West Europe.

HPIM0405.jpg

H&R spring vs EIBACH spring. The H&R are shorter and thicker by 1mm.

HPIM0406.jpg

Steering gear changed,ball joints,steering rods,everything is on.

HPIM0407.jpg

FSDs match with the calipers!!!

HPIM0408.jpg

I made the surface flat for the correct installation of the bushings.

HPIM0410.jpg

One of my dogs, they were good company!

HPIM0411.jpg

The car is in the yard because the workshop is full of trucks, and the sun was like fire.

HPIM0412.jpg

The rear components that I changed.

HPIM0413.jpg

Finished the installation. The rear sway bar was a bit difficult to install.

The strange thing is that the car is not standing straight at the rear. The right side splashboard has more space from the tire than the left side. Before with the old sway bar and the EIBACH it was the opposite. What could it be?Can someone tell me?

Thank for watching and thanks to anyone will help.

These are for now,I have to fit the Intercooler now,and hopefully to begin with the engine repair.

That's a ridiculous statement, head is one of the most inefficient aspects of this engine and a P&P isn't THAT expensive.

Maybe they need to settle? I was under the impression that FSD's were only for Eibach's and our stock springs but IDK ...

How many miles were on your motor? Did you have the tops of the bores checked? - that's typically where they will become oval.

Everything is ok with the engine block. It was to the machine shop again before. The bore is at 81.51mm.
