Hellas850 T-5
great build! im new to the forums. this looks awesome.i did notice a few posts back you were having issues with the the grill and the hood relese. my grill used the OEM volvo badge with a little hendge like from a cabinet door, but super small, and 2 small screws on each side so it will flip up, then it has an a small "L" tab with a screw to the back of the badge and an open hole on the other end, to that we put some coper wire, and wraped it to the relese, i can take some pix if you like? might give you some ideas.Thank you! If you can post some pictures it will be great!

Hellas850 T-5
So finally, after a few problems, and although I was very busy in the workshop, the engine is on the car and working, but still not on the road(I have too many things to finish)Here are some pics. Some days before, when was almost readyHere you can see what happens when you are in hurry(this what you can see was in the return line......).When I started the engine for the first time the steering rack, was destroyed.Oil everywhere on the engine and I was really dissappointed from the bad begining.A throttle body that I bought from ebay in Germany it is from a 960.But for now it will be off the car. That's me quite happy(it was before the story with the steering rack)!!!I repaired somehow the engine wiring. And another view after the installation of the engineThwe wiring is almost finished and as you can see I broke the oil dipstick.I didn't know from where to start!!!!After all these things, yesterday I finished my work in the workshop and stayed until 3 am to change the steering rack and finally listen the sound of the engine working. Then another issue came up,the bottom hose for the cabin heating was leaking(oh God)and had no more patient to stay and fix it.Today I fixed the hose started the engine let it to warm up,and a lifter noise appeared, and also the other steering rack is not good!!!!Price for new 935 euros. These for now, these kind of issues make me to loose my patient and make me very unhappy.Next week's plans.1.Connect the A/F wideband gauge,EGT gauge, turbo timer.2.Put the seats and go for the first ride.3.Send the new R-bumper,the rear bumper the right front fender and the eye brows for painting.4.Go at the volvo dealer and receive some parts.5.finish what is left from the engine bay.6.Finally decide which turbo will buy(probably GT3071R with 0.63A/R),and try to find a second hand P2 manifold as long as I don't have any other option-solution.Sorry for my big message.I can't update very often so I did it all together.!!

No adaptor hose?Because now I wanted to start the engine,I believe that next week I will find some time to search for an adaptor hose,or maybe I will change all the pipes-hoses from the throttle body to the IC with bigger.great job.. Thank you :)

No adaptor hose? Hi there, i'm new to hot-rodding Volvos (hot-rodding Volvos, almost sounds a little funny) so can you please inform me as to whether the 960 throttle-bodies are a straightforward bolt-on mod. to the 870s, that don't require any serious custom fabrication ? (other than the simple need for a larger TB hose to intercooler-pipe connection) How much larger is the throttle plate diam. on the 960 TBs ? Can one expect any kind of a moderate difference in performance (ie. improved throttle-response) on a moderately modified setup with this potential upgrade ? Thanks. Nice job with the build O gamias sas. Have you ever considered attaching an Octopus emblem to your grille ? Grilled calamari (Volvo style). Hi there, thanks for your kind words, for the throttle body the 960's and 850 N/A has 65mm diameter throttle. The turbo IFRC has 55mm.I don't really know for sure if it will have improvement, but my plan is to change all the piping from the IC to the TB with bigger in diameter so it will be all the way wider. The disadvantege is,as I saw the inlet manifold. The air route is a bit conplicated. What is this Octopus emblem? As much as many Greeks enjoy eating octopus, i thought that it would be kinda funny for you to put a small octopus emblem on your grille (not grill); hey, we can even consider calling her Project 850-Octopussy (after all, octopi have 8 "legs"). For those of you who have already performed the 960 TB swap on an 870 turbo, i would really appreciate your comments about the difficulty-level of this swap, and its effects (if any), as i'm totally new to working on Volvos. Thank you. Keep up the good work o gamias sas. Personally, i enjoy eating my octopus(tako) raw, with a little touch of soy sauce. Anybody who tells you that octopedes are stupid isn't very smart. :)
