--Aaron--
nothin better than the dash singin ya songs lol ugh ive read how to's on how to improve this apparently under the cowl under the wiper arms there's 4 bolts and maybe some plastic clips....on older model volvo's these bolts are supposively becoming loose from age/wear n tear......i havent tried it yet but if anyone has this problem see if you can investigate tightening the dash bolts and see if that helps.............either that or TURN THE MUSIC UP BABY LOL haha seriously though it is annoying and i really wanna try to tighten the dash up

T-5Bandit
Where do you find the wider foam tape? I've tried Home Depot and Lowes and can't find it.

Spanky
Where do you find the wider foam tape? I've tried Home Depot and Lowes and can't find it.there is movement in the dashno movement = no squeeky They sell stickers you put on the bottoms of furniture or chairs= a ton of these would workIn HVAC they sell a double sided tar tap thats about 1/8 inch thick, this would work.Basically anything that is soft, durable and thin could be placed on the under frame of the dash and when pulled tight would eliminate the problem.Think 6th grade science project ;)
hgray14
Is it a regional thing or am I just lucky??? I have had quite a few 850 and the present stable of four have no squeaking dashes. I did get a junker that had a popping dash; it would let out a loud 'crack' or 'pop' sound ever so often but that was it. We have mild weather here in the S.F. bay area...could that make a difference. hmmm...then again, one of my cars if from Hawaii and one is from Mass so that weather idea doesn't really hold.oh well...I guess I am just lucky. SlapShot
I only recently got a 98 S70 T5m and the dash has been making all kinds of racket. It seemed to be coming from the glove box area and i noticed that the glove box door was somewhat loose and rubbing on the dash. I just wiped a little petroleum jelly where its making contact (in the left and right bottom corners) and now no more noise....who knows how long that will last tho... For now im happy.
