wow, i was really hoping this community would step back and look at these posters artistically. i put a good 20 hours into mine because i was expecting the same from the other contestants. these were suppose to be displayed in malls or at least that was the idea behind making them. And in the spirit of making professional posters i also thought that implied copyright laws. contrary to popular belief pulling pictures off google and using them is considered copyright infringement. im not even gonna spend my time tearing apart whats wrong with # 8 because im just too angry. i guess i should have expected this from a community who up load pictures with boarders and call them artistic and tell everyone to lower and put pegs on their car and tell people who try different things that their cars are ugly and they should change it (black eyebrows on silver car ring a bell?) well congrats to number 8 for earning 150 dollars from 15 minutes worth of work. GG graphic design. i guess people really are suckers for B&W with a color scheme on top. /end rant

p.s. i apologize for any feeling hurt or people offended im just tried of being undercut by photochopped pictures and work. good day and good luck for the rest of the competition

and dont forget there is companies that sell pictures and also if its doesnt have a watermarket its free :)

it does not need a watermark. the second you upload any of your personal work and images it has a copyright on it. the only thing the watermark does is that is serves as the easiest way of proving that its yours in court. so ya...

In the USA and almost every other major nation, almost everything created privately and originally after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and protected whether it has a notice or not. The default you should assume for other people's works is that they are copyrighted and may not be copied unless you know otherwise.

quote from copyright.gov

"Copyright protects “original works of authorship” that are fixed in a tangible form of expression. The fixation need not be directly perceptible so long as it may be communicated with the aid of a machine or device. Copyrightable works include the following categories:

1. literary works;

2. musical works, including any accompanying words

3. dramatic works, including any accompanying music

4. pantomimes and choreographic works

5. pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works

6. motion pictures and other audiovisual works

7. sound recordings

8. architectural works

These categories should be viewed broadly. For example, computer programs and most “compilations” may be registered as “literary works”; maps and architectural plans may be registered as “pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works.”"

im currently pursuing a degree in art. dont try and read me the copyright laws that you clearly know nothing about. watermarks are merely a means of further sercuring your work. it like putting a lock on a door. the house belongs to you, the lock makes it harder to get in without access.

And one step away from mailing your ear. Relax, this isn't that serious.

he's 18 years old and can hardly afford his car payment for his dad. Show a little respect for someone who put in 20 hours into a poster contest on VS for an HID kit he actually wants.

I voted for his poster because of the clean simple design and the vector image of the 850. Most of the posters had horrible color schemes, hard to read text or simply put, too complicated. Look at a poster in the mall or a billboard.

I would have assumed he was younger due to the lack of maturity.
