You have other things to worry about before the tank breaking in an accident.And like ethanol, LPG's energy density is like, 3/4ths that of gasoline, so that's some substantial power loss, haha.LPG tanks are indeed bulletpoof, I have one in the C70 But LPG ain't CNG.There's no power loss, in fact you gain a few HP on a turbo car on LPG (especially with LPI where it's injected as a liquid, it cools the intake air) because of the huge octane rating.
