I assume its turning though right? i.e. - you're not just getting a click from the starter

Also, from experience - just looking or even pushing on a connector to make sure its seated won't fix the issue.

I've seen more than once where it took physically removing the connecter and reconnecting it fully to fix things.

TPS was one of those examples.

The fact that you just did this work on the fan shroud area and suddenly you're having problems leads us to believe that its something that was altered purposely or by accident during this recent job unless its a HUGE coincidence.

yes, engine cranks, no spark. so what else should i try if RESEATING the connections more than once didnt fix the probleM???

the problem could be completely unrelated to you replacing the fan. it could be a coincidence that it the ignition system is bad. first check the crank and cam sensors make sure that they are working properly. if they are check the ignition booster thats right under the coil and the coil itself. check the coil and see if theres spark coming out of it. if there is then the issue lies in the cap, distro rotor, or wires. if theres no spark then it most likely then is your coil. source a used working one and put it in the car if it starts then its your coil. what i suggest is to find someone in your area with a running car that is willing to swap coils with you to test. if the coil is good then check to see if there power going to the coil.

If you are pretty sure that everything are checked out fine. Then it could just be coincidence. I had no start issue not long ago. Only turn, but no catch. I checked the ignition coil output, no spark during cranking. According to Volvo manual, if fuel supply is not an issue then there are only 2 sensors control the spark to ignition coil. These sensors are rpm sensor and CPS sensor. My case was the CPS sensor went bad. I replaced the CPS sensors and the car fired right up. CPS - camshaft position sensor which is located behind the distributor cap and the upper engine mount. Here is the link to my post : http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?s...1&hl=lcc014
