Splitting Din 6-pin Amp-out

But why do people solder Din 6-Pin to 4xRCA-Cinch cables if you can youst put in that thing?

ok im a little lost what thing? did u remove your stock HU and replace it with a aftermarket one?

The 6 pin DIN is so you can have RCA pre-outs to connect an amp. The volvo system does not use RCA's therefore the reason for the DIN. Now there are some properly made ones that you can buy from QBM, but other then that you have to make it yourself. If you are putting in a brand new HU and getting rid of the stock one then all you would need is a proper volvo harness and play connect the colors.

I dunno maybe i'm not understanding you. Do you have any pictures?

The reason some people decide not to remove the stock amplifier is that the amplifier itself is probably more powerful than some headunits. If they can interface their new HU to the stock amplifier, they get a decent 50Wx4 amplifier to drive the speakers. In theory this also reduces noise and improves sound quality as the headunit circuitry doesn't have to be driving speakers too (if you can turn off the headunit's built in amp, it reduces overall noise in the headunit preamp and other circuitry).

Currently setup in my S70 is a (4 channel 50Wx4) 4 channel amp being driven by the stock headunit and boy does adding the aftermarket amp (via the 6DIN to RCA cable) it makes a very big difference in sound quality. Every thing sounds more punchy and dynamic.

Ok, that is a good point i understand. But there were people soldering female din-6 to 4 RCA-Cinch plugs so they were able to put it in their radios FrontLeft/FrontRight/RearLeft/RearRight... In my new Kenwood you can turn off the built in amplifier so i would be able to run the new radio with the volvo amplifier, but this would be STUPID! The new radio has 4x50W, the Volvo Amp has 4x50W.

What is very nice too is that i have much better sound now. The new HU has a much better equalizer and seems to bring better bass and mids... Even i am going to replace the stock speakers with new ones...

Even though, i have searched on so much websites for a solution to connect an aftermarket HU into my 850R. Everywhere they were talking about soldering and disabling the amp in the new HU, nobody ever mentioned that you can just rip out the Volvo Amp and connect the whole thing without soldering anything!

I have sound "lags" every time i activate the window whipers... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Did i forget to connect something like "ground" (I think there is a special screw in the radio chassis, which is specially for that) or do i need to isolate the radio cables?
