Seagrams
the factory TCV (not BCS as much) are failing in as little as 5-7K miles in more extreme cases. So you're saying there is a TCV and a BCS? I thought it was just a different name for the same part. Boost control, Turbo control, same thing no?
bagodoosh
If you can get a factory BCS for $40 new that is some deal. Volvo retail shows $100.12 for part# 1271630. Where are you getting such a good deal on the BCS?either i misunderstood or the part is cheaper for 98 x70.. part# 9155936 - turbo solenoid valve, retail is $45. drjonez
To rephrase my question, can the Syclone solenoid work as a drop-in replacement on a stock tune provided that i can fabricate a wiring harness with the pigtail described belowlinkThe reality is that virtually any solenoid will work, it's just a matter of wiring it up and connecting the lines. The solenoid IPD is using is just a standard industrial solenoid that's commonly used in automotive aftermarket boost control setups. I happen to use them with some other tuning devices and have had no problems using it on my S60. It seems they've done a great job on making it a drop-in affair and the price is certainly reasonable. Ipd
BCS and TCV are different physically, but they accomplish the same thing. Our HD TCV will likely work with BCS cars, I am doing some further testing now...Stay tuned.
chaze1385
SHould be able to get the connector from the junkyard, looks like a common GM piece, It looks like the description for # PT374 has changed, but based on the pictures of each part it looks correct. It now says:ACDELCO Part # PT374Category: Coolant Level Sensor Connector {2-WAY FEMALE BLACK M/P 150 #12102747}ACDELCO Part # 214474Category: Turbocharger {#01997152}The fatwallet thread has a new discount code good until 8/29 - "451727416688". It's only $1.55 in savings but hey, I'll take it Saving another $2 by having it shipped to work instead of home (business address is cheaper) $30.99 subtotal, $5.07 shipping (to business address), $1.55 discount, $34.51 ground total. Paid with my dividend card for 1% cash back, so $34.16 out the doorCan probably find cheaper with a little searching. CHadLots of good info here. Is subaru related but still applies. About BCS. lookforjoe
found one here:http://198.208.187.182/internet/VehiclePar...0&part=5764I'm going to try one of these, it's cheap enough. I have a new Volvo TCV in there now, so it'll be interesting to compare.from local GM supplier, 17 bucks wholesale, plus couple of bucks for a weatherpac pigtail. I use old 2-pole O2 sensor plugs to avoid cutting factory harness.
