Quite a nice lens, what did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?

Well under $100.00. ;)

showed up Saturday with a B+W UV filter and lens hood

Result (link to preserve bandwidth) Also used the Metz 54mz-4 bounced off the ceiling. I know the fan is a buzzkill but I couldn't get the camera anywhere to avoid its reflection. :(

Nice, open that aperture up a bit, it's a bit underexposed. Could be my crap tastic monitor at work though.

It is a bit underexposed.

My dad bought this lens. After playing with it, I must say it has a tendency to be really soft down low.

It's underexposed. I'm le noob.

Part of the problem is the camera can't communicate with the speedlight so right now, I'm just blindly fumbling around with the flash settings, bounce directions, etc and it's pure guess work.

I ordered a 580ex II yesterday and plan on using the Metz as a remote flash if needed. Hopefully with the flash and camera talking to each other results will be better.
