ooo they come in red - they would look cool on my R and on my GTI!

Matt I fucking love that car ^

Yeah, I miss it. Shame the guy I sold it to took such poor care of it. Last I saw it (Ebay), it was a mess.

bike racks... fork mount or stand up? Getting some for our mountain bikes on my GTI.

You need to Take into account your fork.. Is it standard qr or is it a 15/20mm thru axle. If your running a thru axle the upright mount is the easy way to go.

I've never had luck with any RS product...they're made by SRAM afterall

However I have known plenty of people who love their stuff

Yeah.. A smooth fork that is 100% user serviceable with readily available parts (that are cheap) sucks...

I've used em all..

Fox: owned 6 or 7.. feel pretty good  36 RC2 Van was the best, but really heavy.. RLC is ok. CTD  sucks, service interval sucks, FIT rebuild isn't easy at all.

Manitou. (Sold my RS1 to buy an EFC IN 1994) also owned a lot... ??? I don't even know what the hells up with them anymore. They've had some winners(SX Ti and Black)  and losers.

BOS: expensive, but light..

Marzocchi. The Italian forks were always good. Heavy, but smooth and good quality.

RockShox. I've owned so many and have mostly been happy (for the time) RS1, Mag21, original JudySL, the first Judy XL dual crown, early Boxxer (on an M1), SID (3 different ones), Reba 100mm, Lyric, and soon the newest Pike. Sure the earliest ones suck now, but at the time they were good. Though the EFC was way better than the RS1.. A good thing with RS.. Turner era, pre-SRAM, and now is the warranty and the serviceability. They would send parts no question if there was an issue. And rebuilds are easy and cheap. Anything else SRAM I don't care for except 8speed grip shift XRays..

White Brothers: made me cool because I had one.

ZZYZX.. Expensive at the time. 38mm stanchions in 97.. Baller.

Keep in mind the mid 90s were a dark time for forks. Elastomer with leaky cartridges were the norm. Marzocchi was the coil and oil King. Then came Boxxer for DH and SID for XC. By 2003 Fox jumped in and it was all air and oil.. or for DH/FR, coil/oil.

There's my history And opinions on mtb front suspension.

I like my rocky mounts. I'm getting ready to pull mine to paint them body color, but honestly 9 years of use they still look excellent.

bought two red rocky mounts for my white gti :) I got the "brass knuckles" ones so I don't have to remove wheels... now to lower the gti so its easier to get the bikes up there ;)

I knew you were an old school bike guy. But didn't realize you were that heavy in to MTB, especially that early on. I thought most of your MTB stuff was all a recently grown interest.
