Read Before You Debadge!

Heh, I wish I'd know this before I tried to remove the side badges.

The back ones came off with no problems. Can't even tell they were ever there. I cut behind the badges with fishing line, used a hairdryer to heat up the black sticky stuff, pulled off the black sticky stuff, used Goo Gone, claybar, wash, wax.

I'm not willing to drive around with holes in the side of my car, so the front badge is going back on. I guess I could put turn signals there, but it's not really my style.

Is this the one you're talking about? I know I'll need two of them, and probably some wire; will I need anything else? Is there a writeup handy?

hey, I just had a wild idea.

I saw a new Toyota, black, with shinny black badges on the back. I really liked the way it looked.

Does anybody know of anybody who has done this to their black Vo? I looked at the badges, they're just black plastic with a chrome paint or somthing on the top layer.

You think I should just sand the chrome off and then clearcoat the badges?

Back looks good. It's worth it to fill the holes with sidemarkers, and you got the part numbers right!

I, for the longest time, resisted debadging the car. However, it has a much cleaner look without the emblems. I left the "850" and the motorsport emblem on, which is all anyone needs to know to figure out what kind of car it is.

That is... at least anyone I care to know what I drive.

I've always been in love with the debadged look, but mine are black chrome and don't look all that bad.  I may take off the Volvo and the 850, but leave the T-5R on there

Where did you get the black chrome? I didn't know they were available.
