Mark in Austin
On hot days, the A/C almost always quits while in city traffic. Research from this forum and elsewhere points to the high pressure sensor. This is an easy fix but an expensive part. Before I chunk down $100 for a part most likely to solve my problem, I'd like to know if there is a way I can test the high pressure sensor. This is a 2000 S70 2.4L non Turbo. Thanks in advance,Mark
maiku
or you could just need a recharge
MrWinkey
Yes actually he might be correct^^^^^^^^ Many times if the charge is low it will work fine but under heavy demand the low charge will cause the evaporator to freeze up resulting in A/C shut down. When it thaws out it will re activate. I would have the charge checked.
Rower
Could be the clutch on the compressor, does it click off when it stops cooling? Check my fix:http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=80181
