Abs Light And Codes

I put up a post last week about multiple warning light problems. I came to find out that the dash was falling out of the car and pulling on the wiring harness in a few places. So, I pulled the dash got it fixed cleared all the codes ( a laundry list of them ). Fixing the dash fixed all the problems except 1. None of the other codes have come back except the ones below.

Now the ABS light comes on again after about 25 MPH every time. I'm getting codes 141 and 142. Do these codes point to a single component? Being the Stop lamp switch and or pedal position sensor? The 141 indicates a short and the 142 points to the stop lamp switch.

I'm just wondering if anyone has been through this or has seen this before. I don't want to spend money on the wrong components and or "throw money at the problem" replacing multiple components. I would rather troubleshoot the thing and fix it.

I've had this code forever. Sometimes, it comes on right away. Sometimes, I can drive 50 miles without it coming on. I've already replaced the stop light switch... didn't solve anything. I don't know what would be shorting.

Originally I had these: 444, 213, 214, 141, 142, 144. Plus some SRS and other crap. Now all I have is the 141 and 142. I was hoping it would be simple. Your post does not inspire a simple fix. I kind of had a feeling....

I was reading somewhere about the pedal position sensor and doing a repair on the circuit board or replacing the switch. Have you tried this yet?

Initially my laundry list of codes made me seem to think that it was the pedal position sensor and circuit board failure. Most of them seemed to point to this component. It is unlikely that so many things could have failed so quickly. But now these 2 seem to point only to a short to ground or a stop light switch... I dont know?

I was up under there a couple days ago when I had the dash out. Everything seemed to "look" ok. I did not look at switches attached to the brake pedal specifically. Sounds like there is 2 switches in there some where.

Is this what your read?

Pinned topic.

Yes. Thats it. It was in the ABS codes and under a different link to a different site posted by someone else.

Update...

I just installed Otto's HD endlinks and this light has gone out? Is it possible that wheel sensor or wheel sensor wiring was causing the problem? Or is it just a coincidence?

I have been driving the car for 2 days now and the light will not come back on.
